Gizmo

Gizmo is a fun-loving and charming boy, and it was a joy to work on this 9x12 portrait for a client to give to her stepdaughter. He has these incredible blue eyes, and my main focus was capturing that specific sparkle that makes him so unique. I used soft pastels on Clairefontaine Pastelmat to keep the textures smooth and the colors true to his photo. The most rewarding part of the whole process wasn't just finishing the piece, but when his owner sent me a photo of her and Gizmo actually holding the painting together. Seeing that shared joy is exactly why I love what I do.
